State-level PYKA Womens Sports Festival begins

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh):  State-level PYKA Women’s Sports Festival got underway at TT Nagar Stadium here today. Its other competitions will be held tomorrow from 9 am. The festival will conclude on November 9. Today, matches of badminton, table tennis and athletics were held.

In 100-meter race Bhopal’s Ramya Krishna stood first followed by Usha of Jabalpur. Priti Mishra of Rewa stood first in 200-meter race while Pratyaksha Gautam of Gwalior was the runner up.

In 800-meter race Manju Yadav of Bhopal stood first, Anjali Tomar of Gwalior second and Namrata Pandey of Rewa third.

In 1500-meter race, Bhopal’s Pallavi stood first, Gwalior’s Anjali Tomar second, Jabalpur’s Rani third and Indore’s Puja fourth.

In 4X400 meter, Anju Rani, Neelam, Bharti and Ramya stood first, Ujjain’s Reena Pandey, Namrata, Sonal Joshi and Babita second and Rewa’s Manju Kewat, Priti, Priya Singh and Shalu Singh third.

In high jump, Vinita Bhadari of Bhopal stood first, Veena Thakur of Jabalpur second and Kavita Rathore of Rewa third.

In Shot put, Bhopal’s Nehar Singh came first, Jabalpur’s Vinita Uikey second, Ujjain’s Hemlata third and Sagar’s Rekah Singh fourth.

In discus throw, Neha Singh of Bhopal stood first, Hemlata of Ujjain second, Vinita Uikey of Jabalpur third and Rewa’s Kanchan Tiwari fourth.

In one-side badminton match, Indore beat Ujjain 2-0 while Jabalpur entered final by beating Bhopal 2-1 in a thrilling match. In the final, Monika Chauhan of Indore beat Jabalpur’s Anamika 21-11, 21-19 while in the doubles final Indore’s Sajiya and Sameeksh beat Anamika dn Shweta of Jabalpur 21-7, 21-13.

In today’s table tennis match, Indore’s Amees Kamini beat Ujjain’s Razia Khan 2-0.
