First Ski Alpine Premier League inaugurated

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh):  Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister inaugurated the first Ski Alpine Premier League at world famous Ski slopes and tourist resort Solang Nallah in Manali of Kullu district today organised by Ski Himalayan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that State Government would be extending all possible help to promote winter games and adventure sports in association with different organizations keen to organise such events in different parts of the State. He said that State Government was according priority to adventure sports and organising various events to motivate youth to take part in such events. He said that with the promotion of such events sports tourism would get boost and more tourist attraction activities would be available to youth in the State.

Chief Minister said that Solang Nallah happened to be a choicest destination for organising winter games and adventure infrastructure facilities had been created to cater to the requirements to all sports lovers.

Arun Sharma, Chairman, Ski Himalaya thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating the event which would be milestone in winter sports in the State. He apprised the Chief Minister of requirements of more parking slots around Manali town to facilitate parking of tourist vehicles.

Amitabh Sharma, Managing Director of Ski Himalaya welcomed the Chief Minister and said that 336 participants of 32 teams of different parts of the country which included 25 participants from different countries were participating in the event.

  1. No snow beating was done. The participants were not given time for practice. Despite good facilities of food,transport&lodging was tolerable. The skiers were frastated without getting practice. We hope you will improve next time.
