Aligarh: About 125 University and College teachers from all over the country have joined Subject Refresher Courses launched at the UGC Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University. These teachers belong to Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and various parts of UP. These Subject Refresher Courses have been organized in English, Human Rights and Library and Information Science and will conclude on December 22, 2012
Professor A. R. Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College welcomed the participants at the Inaugural Function and briefed them about the course contents and evaluation. He said that eminent resource persons will be interacting with the participants during the course and visits to AMU Campus, Library, Museum etc. will also be organized. He also apprised them of the unique history and culture of the Aligarh Muslim University, which ensures equal opportunities for all and stands as a living example of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence as envisaged by its visionary founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
Professor A. R. Vijapur, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Dr. Naushad Ali PM, Department of Library and Information Science and Dr. Rizwan Khan, Department of English are the Course Coordinators for the concerned Subject Refresher Courses.
