Aligarh: The Department of Home Science, Aligarh Muslim University organized an exhibition “Art Beat” for the overall personality development, which includes planning activities and counseling of students. Mrs. Sabiha Simi Shah, the Chief Guest, inaugurated the exhibition.
Welcoming the chief guest, Dr. (Mrs.) Anisa M. Durrani, Chairman, Department of Home Science, said that the theme of this exhibition is to showcase Home Science as “Centre of innovation” and aims at capacity building for entrepreneurship among students.
The exhibition carried attractive and innovative handmade items. A stall demonstrated the preparation of different nutritious food like soybean milk and sprouted gram chat. To create health awareness, the Body Mass Index was calculated on the spot and different techniques were suggested to overcome nutrition amassing. Innovative educational toys made by students were displayed and different types of stain removal techniques were demonstrated. Beside this, the students organized a puppet show to highlight the importance of girl education.
Overwhelmed by the exhibition, Mrs. Shah expressed it as the ‘Heart beat’ instead of ‘Art beat’.
Prof. Akhtar Hasib, Prof. Parvez Qamar Rizvi and Dr. Mohd Ali Khan, who were present on the occasion as guests of honor, appreciated the exhibition as highly informative. Dr. Anisa M. Durrani thanked Prof. Farzana Alim, Miss Noor-us-Sabah Alam, Dr. Saba Khan, Miss Nassem-us-Sahar, Mrs. Zeba, Miss Ayesha Farheen and the students of the department for their active participation and cooperation.
