Aligarh: Ten films produced by the students of Mass Communication, were screened at the conference room, Faculty of Social Science at the Aligarh Aligarh Muslim University.
Inaugurating the function, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Brigadier (Retd.) Syed Ahmad Ali praised the department for providing hands on training to its students of final year. He encouraged the students to cultivate their creativity that will eventually brighten their future. Pro Vice Chancellor wished the department reach new heights.
Ten films were screened out of which five were documentaries, directed by fourth semester students Sidra Hasauter, Zoya Khan, Naumra Khan, Nuzhat Firdose, Hafsa Shahrukh & Rachta Sharma. Fiction directors were Ritwik Bagchi, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Huda Khalid, Mohd. Faiz, Miksha Gupta, Sehba Islam, Saad Salman, Junaid Khan, Salwa Rehman & Zainab Tariq.
The Chairman, Dr. Shafey Kidwai said that the department is fully committed to provide hands on training to the students and it will rope in the best in the industry and G.S. Grewal is one of them who imparted training this year. Prof. NAK Durrani said that the department has been ranked second in terms of job prospects and infrastructure, though the department desperately need the services of technical staff.
On the occasion Prof. Anil Ankit, Director Media Centre Mahatma Gandhi International University Wardha, Mr. A. Rehman Chairman Aalimi Urdu Trust, New Delhi and Prof. Shabahat Husain Dean Faculty of Social Science were present Ms. Ruchita Sharma, a student of final year of MA Mass Communication conducted the programme.
