Lecture on “Understanding Budget” organized
Aligarh: The Club for Short Evening Courses, General Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organized a lecture-cum-discourse on “Understanding and Interpreting of Budget” in layman’s perspective.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Valeed Ahamd Ansari, senior faculty member, Department of Business Administration.
In his lecture, Dr. Ansari said that people often felt that the budget was very difficult to understand but if the technicalities are kept aside, the issues pertaining to budget would become easier to understand.
He said that every year on last day of February, the Finance Minister presents the budget in Lok Sabha providing the economic and fiscal plans for the country and streamlining all the expenditure and income of the government.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Dr. Parvaiz Talib, President of the Club said that the budget had an effect on everybody in one way or the other. The businessmen would take the budget in their own way and a professional would take it in different way.
The Secretary of the Club, Mohd. Sarfaraz announced that the club will be organizing next lecture on March 9, 2013 on “Election Reforms”, which will be delivered by Mr. M.C. Raj, Founder, Campaign for Electoral Reforms, Karnatka.
Former Secretary of the Club, Mr. Mansoor Ilahi, Senior Members, Ishrat Jahan, Hina Kauser, Paras Kaushik, Maham Musharraf, Tariq Ansari, Suraj Singh, Juhi, Intikhab Arshad, Samreen, Zainab, Shaista and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Rezaul Karim proposed a vote of thanks.
