Centre to provide financial assistance for running buses in tribal areas TRIBAL AREAS

New Delhi: Center govt will provide financial assistance to Himachal Pradesh for plying of  mini  buses in snow bound tribal areas of the state said Thakur Singh Bharmouri Tribal Development Minister after meeting with Union Tribal Affairs  Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo in New Delhi .He was accompanied by Kewal Singh Pathania Vice Chairman H R T C.

He said that state govt will soon send a detailed project report to the union tribal ministry highlighting the need to strengthen the  transport infrastructure in these area keeping in view of the tough geographical and topographical condition. He said that road network is the only connectivity source for entire tribal belt in absence of  rail and air network and told that  there is urgent need to  connect maximum tribal areas with bus services to provide vehicle facilities in remote area of the state. He said the centre has agreed to  fund the  project as central assistance. He said that Union Tribal Affairs Minister Kishore Chander Deo will visit the tribal area of Pangi & Bharmour in June next to assess the impact of the various development projects in the tribal areas and will hold high level meeting with officials and tribal area representatives to seek their views and suggestions for expediting the social and economic development projects in these area and take corrective policy decisions at central level keeping in view of the ground realities.

He said that the union tribal affairs  minister V Kishore Chander Deo will start his tour from Shimla where he will call on Himachal chief minister Virbhadra Singh to exchange the views and ideas of  the state govt on various central sponsored schemes and need for  further improvement in these schemes as per the aspirations of the state govt union tribal development minister V Kishore Chander Deo  appreciated the steps taken by present govt  for upliftment of tribal areas of the state and said that tribal development in the Himachal Pradesh  has become model for other states .
