Revenue ministers conference to discuss complex issues soon

New Delhi: Union government will shortly convene revenue ministers conference to discuss the complex issues relating to revenue administration in the country said Himachal revenue minister Thakur Kaul Singh after meeting with union rural development minister Jai Ram Ramesh in New Delhi today.

He demanded that  introduction of satellite based settlement procedure in the entire Himachal Pradesh so as to modernize the entire revenue record and told that the old system of settlement is full of flaws which leads to various disputes at all level. He said that satellite based settlement procedure has been introduced as experimental basis in few villages in Mandi, Sirmour and Kangra district which has improved the revenue administration to great level and has facilitated the common villagers as well as revenue officials.

He said that satellite based settlement procedure will be technology friendly and can be uploaded on the website which can be assessed through common service centers set up at village level throughout the state. He requested the union govt to provide technical and expert training to the revenue staff of state govt for introducing  latest technology in revenue administration at grass root level. He said that union rural development minister Jai Ram Ramesh will shortly visit the state to assess the impact of various centrally sponsored schemes in the state and also inspect various on going development projects in the state.
