Shimla: Talking to the media after inaugurating the Children Park & residences of Pujaris at Jakhu temple here today Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that Himachal Pradesh has constituted ‘Gauvansh Samvhardan Board’ for the protection of cows and other stray cattle and to provide them shelter.
Chief Minister said that government would open shelter homes for such stray cattle all over the state in a phased manner so that they could be properly fed and looked after. Speaking on GST, Virbhadra Singh said that Goods and Services Tax (GST) was an initiative of the UPA government and at the very moment was opposed by the BJP. Now, when the path is through, I will only say ‘Der Aaye Darust Aaye’, said Virbhadra Singh adding that GST is a big reform that will bring about a unified common market in the country.
On being asked about the recent amendments in Town and Country Planning Bill, the Chief Minister said that the norms for regularization of unauthorised structures were eased on the suggestions and representations received from public and duly assessed by the Government. It was the habit of the BJP to criticise every move of the ruling congress in the State irrespective whether it is reasonable or not, he remarked.
Speaking on the question raised on the self glorification issue by some public representatives in Rio-de-Janeiro Olympics, Virbhadra Singh said that one should abide the codes and ethics of the country they were going to. They should abide by the protocol and be in audience bench cheering the players, he said.
