Ubisoft has responded to a big Assassin’s Creed leak that revealed the first information about Animus Hub, which is the new name for the codename Infinity project. In a post on Reddit, Ubisoft said “inaccurate rumors” were spreading online, so it decided to clear a few things up.

First off, all rewards in the Animus Hub are “entirely free,” Ubisoft said. Additionally, there will be no paid subscriptions or paid battle pass in the Animus Hub. The company went on to say that it will add “content and missions” to the Animus Hub regularly at no extra cost.

More details will come closer to launch, Ubisoft said. Ubisoft’s Reddit post was the first time the company officially revealed the real name for codename Infinity, though a developer used its name back in June in a media interview.

The leak revealed that players will be able to unlock a variety of cosmetics for their characters and weapons. As we reported previously, some of the cosmetics include futuristic weapon skins and armor alongside mythological mounts and resources that players can use inside the game, and one of the other leaked images shows co-protagonist Yasuke standing inside the Animus Hub.

Originally scheduled to launch in October, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was delayed to February 14, 2025 so that its developers would have more time to polish the game. In other news, Assassin’s Creed boss Marc-Alexis Coté recently spoke about the modern-day aspect of the Assassin’s Creed Games, and how Ubisoft is aiming to introduce a new direction for the storylines set in modern times.
